J.P. Holland Family

This photo is of the J. P. Holland family home in
Monticello / Greenhill township. It was taken about
1897-98.

Standing at the gate are:
James Pinkney & Mattie Martha (Veasey) Holland with 3
of their youngest children. In Mattie Martha's arms is
Dora Lexa Holland (b: 1897), standing between James P.
& Mattie Martha is Lottie Dee Holland (b: 1891), standing
& holding her arm over her eyes is Alberta Holland (b: 1895).

Standing on the porch are:(left to right)
two unknown African American ladies; several people
behind torn portion of photo (unknown)lady on far right
on porch is probably Lula Holland (b: 1883)

Man on horse (unknown)

The James P. Holland family did not leave Drew Co. until
after 1900 - when they migrated to Anderson and Cherokee
Counties, Texas. Lottie Dee Holland married William H.
Erwin in Jacksonville (Cherokee Co.) in 1911. Which explains
my interest in both the ERWIN and HOLLAND families.
