Looking for more information concerning Ivian Pearson FORISTER. (Wife is Mary DAVIS.) He and son Robert owned land in Izard County from 1901-on. He died in Aug 1906 and was buried in Scott Cemetery in Wild Cherry. Ivian's children: William M., Isaac Pearson, Eli Benjamin, Robert Steven, Margaret Josephine, Charley, Anna. Also searching for Eli Benjamin Forister, Ivian's son, who married Mary Elizabeth Hale (daughter of William Meadows Hale) in Wild Cherry in 1913. Eli and Mary's children were born in Wild Cherry and Calico Rock, AR from 1914 to 1927. Eli's children: Beulah E., Charles Hugh, Theodore Ruben, William Pearson, Bennie Eugene, Ina Mae, Paul Howard, Clarence Lee. QUALLS
My gg grandfather Martin Qualls born 22 Oct 1815, Overton county Tennessee, died 27 sept 1838 in Berryville, Carroll county. I have extensive data (7500 people) on his descendants but can not identify his parents or siblings or his place of burial in Carroll county. Qualls descendants lived in Montgomery, Washington, Benton, Madison & Izard counties. We suspect that his father may have been James Quarles/Qualls or Robert Quarles/Qualls. Seeking info on Benjamin Lucy. Born Mar 09 1840. Married Sarah (Mathis). She was born Mar 21 1851. Eleven Children: Arlie (Loosey), Sarah (Salley) Coggins Thomas, Mellie (Hearn) Herron, William, Robert, James, Walter, John, Frank, Minnie (Marchant) and Eller. They lived in or around Izard and Baxter County. Several children married in Fulton County. Ben died Mar 05 1940 and Sarah Jul 08 1933. Both buried Staggs Cemetery, Izard Co. Seeking information about the Mother of my Grandmother Sarah (Sallie) CROSBY, born 1882 in the Heber Springs area. The Only name I have found for her is HOPE, which could be a first or last name. The CROSBY family lived in Izard Co. before moving to other parts of the State. I feel that HOPE was the Surname because it was listed as a maiden name. Sallie's Father was Lanson CROSBY, Son of CYRUS CROSBY, and Brother of DR. George Washington ("DR. WASH") CROSBY. Any info will be appreciated and I'll be glad to share what I have. They remained in Izard Co. 1910. Father William Melton, after death of wife Mary, wed Eleanor Cook and went to Madison Co. 1900. & Benton Co. 1910. William Albert(my ancestor) went to KY. & Tenn. I am searching for the DURIG family roots. James Ralph(Henry) Durig grew up around Calico Rock (Izard County). My grandfather was born in 1865 and died in 1939. He was buried at Pleasant Ridge near Oxford, AR. James Durig married Idella Mae Porterfield who also grew up around Calico Rock. They had one son James H. Durig who was born and raised near Calico Rock also. He moved to Washington State in 1959. Could anyone out there please help me find any information about JAMES RALPH DURIG? WILLIAMS/CROWLEY/JONES/BYRD
Thomas WILLIAMS born ca 1795 GA, married 20 Feb 1816, Hopkins Co. KY to Martha "Patsy" CROWLEY born ca 1797 GA, married 2nd in Izard Co. AR on Oct 1866 to Mrs. Ruth R. JONES born ca 1820, who 1st married James "Jesse" JONES. Thomas died 05 Mar 1876 in Sharp Co. AR. He served in the War of 1812, in his papers it says he moved to AR from Graves Co. KY. He appeared in the 1850 census of Izard Co. AR, living near his sister Charlotte and her husband William BYRD. A Richard D. WILLIAMS who testified in the pension application may be related. Thomas' children I know of are (1)Henry ca 1817 KY, who married Elizabeth BYRD, (2)Arrena ca 1835 KY, (3)Zachariah ca 1838 KY, William B. ca 1842 KY. I would like to hear from anyone who knows this family, or knows other children, or knows where Thomas is buried. Submitter: Margie Garr


FINLEY/MIDDLETON/LAW
Uziah "Uzza" Finley was b. abt 1760 and died about 1844 probably in Izard Co. AR in the vicinity of Melbourne. Issues: Nancy m. Parks Middleton, William m. Elizabeth Law?, Zachariah, Charles, and Norris. Uzza came to Arkansas about 1818 from Georgia with his brother Eleven Finley. It is believed that his dau. Nancy remained in GA but his sons came to AR with him and in 1850 and 1860 descendants from his sons appear in Izard County living among the family of Isaac Finley. The movements of these family members are uncertain and have not been documented. Finley's with naming patterns who could descend from Uzza appear in Marion, Boone, Fulton, Baxter, Izard, Independence Counties in AR and in Fannin, Cooke, Hunt and northern counties in TX. There are indications of migration to CA in 1860. I would be interested in receiving queries from descendants and interested persons from Finley's in areas cited above.
