Genealogy Research Room

Picture of Ashdown Public Library

The LRCGS genealogy research room is located in the Ashdown Public Library. We presently have a microfilm reader-printer and a wonderful collection of census and Little River County newspapers on film.

Our library is steadily growing and we have many Arkansas (and other state) genealogy resources. A copier is available at the library, should you wish to make paper copies.

If you need assistance, or would like more information, please e-mail our Society Librarian, Barbara Aston.

LRCGS Journal

Published bi-annually, each issue of the LRCGS Journal spotlights a different aspect of Little River County history. Previous spotlights have included Wilton, Peytonville, and Pine Prairie. Additionally, issues contain pictures, news articles, family histories, and research helps.

If you are interested in receiving the LRCGS Journal, please see the membership section for more details.

Historical and Genealogical societies may send an e-mail to the journal editor to inquire about an exchange program.

Little River County Pioneer Families and Early Settlers Certificate Program

The Little River County Genealogy Society is proud to offer the following certificates to the descendants of those courageous families who settled our county.

To qualify for a Pioneer or Early Settlers Certificate, an applicant must be directly descended from an ancestor who settled in what is now Little River County as follows:

Pioneer Certificate
Settlement in what is now Little River County on or before date of organization—March 5, 1867
