Who can be a Groovy Granny? Grandmothers, aunts, godmothers, ladies who love children.
What do Groovy Grannies do? As grandmothers we seek opportunities to be a part of our grandchildren's lives. And what could be better than being involved at their school?
Some of our projects have been- seasonal decorations, inside and out, sprucing up flowerbeds and planting bulbs, Greeter at "Meet the Teacher" and Teacher Conferences, special projects like recycling, helping with Book Fairs and making a full size igloo out of milk cartons. This year we also plan a Teacher's Appreciation Luncheon. The things we do- the children notice and appreciate.
Groovy Grannies are fun and young at heart. We enjoy each other's company and have a good time. This is a wonderful opportunity to continue nurturing our grandchildren through examples of volunteering.
P.S. We could be called "Grateful Grandmothers" for the chance to be a small part of our grandchildren's school day.
