| 2/1/1964 | LEM JOHNSON Funeral service for Lem F. Johnson was held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock in the Holiness Church at Watson, Okla., with Bro. Wayne Dillard officiating. Burial was in the Watson cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul C., J. L., Darrell, Ronnie, and Donnie Johnson, Jess Parnell and Claude Smith. Geyer Funeral Home directed the funeral.
Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 6, 1886, at Baker Springs, and died Feb. 1, 1964, at Dallas, Tex., at the age of 78 years. He joined the Baptist Church in 1916. Mr. Johnson grew to manhood at Baker Springs, moving to Watson, Okla., about 1913 where he lived until about 1942. Since that time he lived at Broken Bow and Mount Herman, Okla., being a well known business man. Survivors include five sons, Jess, Pete, Gene and Herman Johnson of Watson and L.F., Jr. of Fort Worth, Tex.; two daughters, Eva Johnson and Lavern Smith of Watson, Linda Faye Johnson of Henryetta, Okla.; four brothers, Cleve Johnson of Mt. Herman, Okla.; Garland Johnson of Plunkettville, Jack Johnson of Broken Bow and Hode Johnson of Oregon; a sister, Mrs. Ola Webb of Octavia; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Maggie Johnson, 83, of Broken Bow, died Tuesday night in Mc Curtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel. Funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Thursday in the Norwood Welch Chapel in Broken Bow with Herbert Cole officiating.Burial will be in the Watson Cemetery, Watson, Ok.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Texas, October 23, 1895, and had lived in Broken bow most of her life. She was a Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Johnson of Broken Bow; two sons, Clifford of Broken Bow and Albert of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Sharrock of Paris, Tex., and Mrs. Evelyn Oliver of Broken Bow; two half-sisters, Rosa Tully of Sulphur Springs, Tex., and Ruth Hart of Houston; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. | 1/12/1964 | MRS. ROSE JOHNSON Funeral service for Mrs. Rose Johnson was held Tuesday afternoon at the Watson Holiness Church with Bro. Bert Utters and Bro. Wayne Dillard officiating. Burial was in Watson cemetery under the direction of the Geyer Funeral Home. Pall bearers were Paul C. Johnson, J. L. Johnson, Darrell Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, and Donnie Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 23, 1890 at Baker Springs, and died Jan. 12, 1964 at Watson, at the age of 73 years. Mrs.Johnson lived at Baker Springs until she was 22 years of age, then she moved to Watson where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Holiness Church at Watson.. She is survived by her husband, L. F. Johnson; five sons, Jess, Pete, Gene, and Herman of Watson, L.F., Jr., of Ft.Worth, Tex.; two daughters, Miss Eva Johnson and Mrs. Lavern Smith of Watson; one sister, Mrs Lyda Henry of DeQueen, Ark; 23 grand children and 13 great-grandchildren. | 11/26/1995 | Edith Gladys Jordan, 80, of Vian, Okla., formerly of Smithville, Okla., died Sunday, November 26, 1995, at her home.
Mrs. Jordan was born October 14, 1915, in Smithville, Okla., to A.C. and Juliana Artistine Blake. She married Virgil E. "Buddy" Jordan on December 18, 1935, in Smithville, Okla. Mr. Jordan preceded her in death.
She was a self-employed service station owner and she was of the Baptist faith. She lived most of her life in the Smithville area.
Surviving are a son, Jerry Jordan, of Vian Okla; two sisters, Beatrice Whaleyand Lola Morgan, both of Mena; a granddaughter, Lisa G. Jordan Fernandez, of Houston; an adopted grandson, Jerry Don Edwards, of Vian, Okla.; four nephews, Bob Whaley, of Corvallis, Ore., Monte Blake, of Tulsa, Okla.., Charles Blake, of Idabel, Okla., Ronnie Blake, of Howe, Okla; three neices, Julina Hardin, of Haltom City, Texas, Betty Ellis, of Wilburton, Okla., Sharon Walker, of Denver, Colo; numerous great-neices and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, nov. 28, in Smithville Assembly of God Church .with Bro. Bob E. Kimball officiating. Interment was in Smithville Cemetery under the direction of Geyer-Quillin Funeral Home in Mena. Contributed by Carmiel Alread |

| Date Unknown | Virgil "Ed" Jordan, 83, of Smithville, Okla., died Monday morning in the Sparks Regional Medical Center in Ft. Smith. He was born on September 11, 1907 in DeQueen.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, in the Smithville Assembly of God with Bro. Robert Thomasson officiating. Interment will be in the Smithville Cemetery under the direction of Geyer-Quillin Funeral Home in Mena.
Pallbearers were Jess Umstead, Everett Bailey, George Benge, Charlie Fairless, ronnie Johnson, and Eugene Woods.
Jordan was the son of the late Benjamin F. Jordan and the late Mrs. Alta Clary Jordan. He was united in marriage to Miss Edith Blake on December 18, 1935 in Idabel, Okla. He made his home in Smithville for the past 60 years, was a veteran of World War II, and co-owner of the Jordan Brothers Grocery and Gas in Smithville.
Survivors are wife, Edith Jordan, Smithville, Okla.; one son, Jerry Jordan, Ft. Smith; one brother, Ray Jordan, Smithville, Okla; one granddaughter, Lisa Jordan, Houston, Tex. Contributed by Carmiel Alred |

| Date Unknown | David Glenn Keiss, 21, of Watson, Okla., died Thursday near Watson. He was born June 17, 1963 at Mena.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Doyle Nations and Bro. Jerry Icenhower officiating. Interment was in the Watson Cemetery, under the direction of Geyer-Quillen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Troy Keiss, Gene Williams, Tommy Lee, Meryle Keiss, Keith Williams, and Chris Brown.
Keiss had lived in Watson all of his life and graduated from Smithville High School in 1981. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and was employed by Gene Williams as a logging contractor.
Keiss was married to Miss Glenda Just on September 1, 1981.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Glenda Keiss, Watson; one son, Brian Keiss, Watson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Keiss, Watson; one brother, Randell Keiss, Watson; one sister, Miss Sheila Keiss, Watson; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Keiss, Watson and Mrs. Ethel Blake, Smithville.
