Date Unknown James "Jim" McClung, 81, of Watson, Okla., died Thursday in a DeQueen hospital. He was born March 15, 1904 at Kingston. Funeral service was held at 10 Monday morning in the Pleasant Grove Nazarene Church with Bro. Ken Mattson officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Geyer-Quillin Funeral Home. Pall bearers were John Snider, Ronnie Johnson, D.L. Manasco, Jim Pitman, zack Denton, Jr., and Gene Williams. McClung was the son of the late Charles W. McClung and the late Mrs. Melissa Devel McClungand was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie Hathorn September 9, 1929 at Kingston. He made his home in the Watson community since 1940, was a retired farmer and timber worker and a member of the World Wide Church of God. Survivors are wife, Mrs.Lizzie McClung, Watson, Okla; three sons, Glen McClung, Watson, Okla., Clyde Winfred McClung, Nyssa, Ore. , Donald McClung, Longview, Tex., seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Williams, in 1954.

1/25/2001 Bertha M. Plunkett Martin, of Valliant, OK, formerly of Smithville, OK, died Thursday, January 25, 2001 in Paris, TX. Mrs. Martin was born March 31, 1911 in Baker Springs, AR to the late Cleveland and Velma Plunkett, her age being 89 years 9 months and 24 days. She was the widow of Virgil Martin, the former postmaster of Smithvilleand a member of the First Baptist Church in Valliant where she was a member of the Rebekah Sunday School Class. Survivors are: brothers, Doyle Plunkett of Beaverton, OR, John Plunkett and Woody Plunkett, both of Paris, TXand Burl Plunkett of Valliant, OK; sisters, Lucille Moyer of Valliant, OK, Charlene Herndon of Paris, TX, and Maxine Clement of Carrolton, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, one brother and sister. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2001 in the First Baptist Church in valliant with Rev. Dell Glennand Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Interment was under the direction of the Huckleberry Funeral Service of Valliant. Pallbearers were Curtis Cowell, Gerald Guest, Jerry Ellis, Wayne Moyer, Max Mabry, Bill Hubbard, Alton Sims, and Marty Mabry.

Date Unknown JOSIAH FRANCIS MORGAN Josiah Francis Morgan, 81, died Sunday in the Mena Manor Nursing Home. He was born November 17, 1906 at Kellyville, Okla. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Union Mission Pentecostal Church of God with Rev. Nolan Morrison and Rev. Comal Walace officiating. Interment was at the Smithville Cemetery under the direction of Geyer-Quillin Funeral Home.. Pallbearers were Micheal Ellis, Ricky Hardin, Gregory Wagnor, Tracy Allen, Ronnie Blake, and Jerry Jordan. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Johnson, Ray Jordan, Delmar Blake, Odell Philpot, and Paul Autry. Morgan was the son of the late Simean Morgan and the late Mrs. Nellie Moseau Morgan and was united in marriage to Miss Lola Blake in 1926. He had made his home in Smithville and Washington State before moving to Mena. He was a retired merchant and machinist, a member of the Smithville Baptist Church,and attended the Union Mission Pentecostal Church. Survivors are wife, Mrs. Lola Morgan, Mena; two daughters, Mrs. Julina Morgan, Ft. Worth, Tex., Mrs.Betty Ellis, Wilburton, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Doris Price, Ft. Worth, Tex., Mrs. Yvonne Abel, Ft. Worth, Tex., Mrs. Billie Price, Raceland, La., Mrs. Mary McMillan, Billingham, Wash.., six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
